GPS FAIL!

As the blogging world goes on so does life I guess. So many crazy things happen to us...

Last week we were on our way to London for my husbands immigration medical exam, and as the snow had stopped falling we decided it would be safe to go. Well we were wrong, actually we weren't wrong.. our GPS was. We had trouble finding the street that we had to turn on to meet the highway later on so we turned on the GPS, because well its kinda a household item now a days... It took us down what we thought would be the right street and we would get on with our travels when we met a stop sign at the bottom of a hill. My husband, Top, tried to stop but since it was a back road it was really slippery and we couldn't stop in time for the stop sign. Top then had to make a split decision, to either go straight through onto a road that had a large red sign that said "Bridge Closed Ahead" or to try and turn onto the next road and stop. So naturally the best decision was to turn. As we turned we caught the shoulder of the road that pulled our car into the ditch sideways. The ditch was about 5 feet deep so the car rolled and as soon as we knew it we were hanging in the air and the airbags popped out.

We were all ok other than a few bruises, next we had to climb out of the car through the backseat window. Later the police and the ambulance show up and we were carted to the Meaford hospital. Poor Luke had to be put in a gurney where they had to strap his head in and he cried the whole way. But he was checked out and given the thumbs up, so once he got out of the gurney he stopped crying!

After we got home and my mom had to contact the insurance, cause it was her car, we find out that its $13,000 in damage... THANK GOD FOR INSURANCE! I feel bad for my mom cause we took away her car and now shes stuck with my sisters monster of a truck. But she's just happy we are all ok and doesn't seem to mad! But sorry to say the GPS took a few good hits and placed into a drawer to collect dust.

So if you thought that was enough excitement for a while.... well over the week we were going about our normal lives when I started to smell gas in our house, and the occasional clicking of the stoves lighter... We quickly investigated and turned of the gas and tried to make the stove stop trying to light itself. It was a long wait until the heating and cooling guy came to investigate so the whole time we had a few candles lit to make sure the extra gas was being burned off. He finally came and unhooked the stove and said that it was time to get a new one. Now my poor mom and dad have to go find one and install it just after the accident!

Well all in all we are all safe and healthy thank god and my mom finally was made to make up her mind on a new stove that has been sitting on the back burner (sorry for the pun) for about five years!
